The best gifts for daycare providers
Are you ready to honor Teacher Appreciate Week in celebration of your child’s daycare teacher?
Teacher Appreciation Week wasn’t a thing when I was in school, at least I don’t think so. But the observation is much deserved!
Daycare teachers are often overlooked during this time but they have the right to our appreciation too.
No one realizes that more than the parent who has to take care of their toddler for a weekend by themselves. And yes, I’m talking about me.
So, let’s face it, daycare teachers are amazing!
While Teacher Appreciation Week may only last for five days, there is no limit to how many times you can let your child’s teachers know how much they mean to your
family.
These daycare teacher appreciation gift ideas are a great place to start. They are practical and budget-friendly for when there are multiple teachers you want to treat.
The best part? Kids (toddlers and preschoolers) can help assemble most of the gift ideas below! So, say thank you and make this year’s Teacher Appreciation Week the most memorable of all for your daycare teacher!

What is an appropriate teacher appreciation gift for daycare teachers?
Like any teacher, daycare teachers want to feel valued and be recognized for the commitment they are making to your children. It’s hard to truly know what to buy them and gift cards may seem like they way to go. But, that’s not what they really want. Don’t get me wrong, they will still be appreciative but they desire something that doesn’t have to cost much at all.
Daycare teachers want gifts that come from the heart and highlight what they mean to you and your child. It means so much to them when they receive a personalized note and cards that are decorated by the kids. Those are the kind of gifts they cherish and hang on to forever.
So, yes, a gift card is still appropriate but be sure to add a personal note too!
How much should I spend on a daycare teacher gift?
Believe it or not, you don’t have to spend a lot of money to make a lasting impression on a teacher during their appreciation week.
Many working moms stress out on how much money to spend on gifts, especially when there is more than one teacher in a room.
You want to recognize everyone and you don’t want anyone to feel left out. But, buying gifts for 3 or 4 daycare teachers can get costly pretty quickly. I realized this when my daughter was an infant and had at any given time 4 teachers that took care of her.
I couldn’t give one teacher without giving to the other 3. At the same time, I couldn’t afford to buy teacher appreciation gifts for 4 teachers.
Instead, I turned to my hand dandy Cricut cutting machine and made them each a personalized tumbler with a sweet thank you note. It didn’t cost me a lot of money and I knew they appreciated it as I saw them using the tumblers every day.
The same thing happened the following year when I used the cricut to make personalized canvas bags!
It’s easy to fall into the trap of trying to keep up with what all of the other moms are doing. Yes, our kids spend a lot of time with their daycare teachers. Some would even say they are “raising” them. But, that doesn’t mean you should spend more money than you need to.
Hopefully, the following teacher appreciation gift ideas will show you that you can present your child’s daycare teacher with a lovely gift without breaking the bank. My goal is to not spend more than $10-$12 per teacher without placing limitations on my level of appreciation.
